![]() ![]() I have some co-workers who are gamers and all of them buy Nvidia cards. I think the AMD card is operating at a lower temp than the 1070 (maybe that is expected) and most reviews show this (again). this is based on one youtube video in which both cards are tested.do you think that is accurate? interesting (am I correct?) - power consumption is much lower though - every review seems to indicate this - youtube videos in which these cards are tested against each other shows the cpu usage info (in which I made my conclusions)ĪMD card - lower temps, but, seems like cpu temps and usage is lower, too.not sure why that is. ![]() The Nvidia card looks like it has slightly higher temps - higher cpu usage. I have a few other questions and want advice on my perceptions: GTX 1070 - pretty good used prices right now - good performance if I can find it at that used price? RX 580 - open source drivers with Linux and Hackintosh, decent performance in Windows 10 Here's the reasoning behind considering these two cards: Do you guys do it? It would probably add $20 - $40 to the card for travel funds. I have found it through private sellers in which I'd have to travel - I don't know if that's a good idea or not. $250 vs $350 (so about $100 difference) - the Nvidia card, I don't know if I can talk the seller down so I thought I'd go with a $100, assumed, difference. I know they are not in the 'same league' - the GTX 1070 outperforms it but actually, the RX 580 looks like it holds its own pretty well. ![]()
